How would you describe what you do at Popsa?
My day job is being responsible for all things commercial – managing the supply chain, ensuring the physical products are made to the best of our capabilities and of course, on time.
We are in the process of extending our supply chains into two new continents.
I am also responsible for the customer experience from the point customers have placed their orders.
This means ensuring the customers product is delivered in perfect condition and on time, and should they contact us via chat or email that this is dealt with quickly and efficiently. We are currently growing our Customer Service Team with native speakers in multiple languages.
What does your typical working day look like?
As I commute, my day tends to start early on the train, checking daily revenues, email and Slack messages.
My days can be so varied, from dealing with investors to meeting with the tech teams. Once I arrive in the mornings we tend to have a quick catch up with Customer Service Team, ensuring everything is running smoothly. Then it's either meetings or GSD (getting stuff done).
More and more of the days are long so there tends to be a lot of work to catch up on in the evenings and weekends.
What's your favourite thing about Popsa?
My favourite thing about Popsa is being part of an extremely exciting business that is growing at a phenomenal rate.
The business is transitioning from being an early stage startup to a fast growing business. This is ever so exciting! There are learnings every day and even more exciting for me, is that we are disrupting an industry that I have been connected to since the early 90s.
What is your proudest moment at Popsa?
My proudest moments so far are when we sealed our investment raise in 2018 (we raised £4 million), followed by beating our targets in the same year.
What do you like to do outside of work?
I am married and a proud father of 3 boys - ask anyone at Popsa - I think I bore them all with my photos and my children's escapades!
I spend most of spare time watching my boys play sports; my eldest has just become a pro ice hockey player in the English leagues, my middle son is the captain of the school rugby team and youngest is the A team hockey goalkeeper at school. I’m so proud!
What’s your favourite food spot around the Popsa Soho office?
There are so many good eateries in Soho, my favourite at the moment is Dirty Bones, the Burgers there are to die for!
What is your favourite part of your job?
It has to be watching the business grow from strength to strength in a structured and controlled manner.
Something people don't know about you is…
I am the Chairman of a local football team in Warwickshire, covering senior and junior teams, with 250 players. I am also married to one of Simon Le Bon ex's!
